ABFA Disappointed in Congressman Conaway’s Efforts to Thwart Department of Defense Biofuels Spending

Tuesday, May 6, 2014

In response to Representative Conaway (R-TX) planned amendments to the House Armed Services Committee fiscal 2014 defense policy bill (H 4435), the Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA) released the following statement in support of Department of Defense (DOD) programs to develop commercial advanced biofuels for defense purposes:

“ABFA supports the DOD and their continued efforts to develop alternative fuels. Advanced, drop-in biofuels are an important part of America’s energy balanced portfolio and offer the U.S. military a flexible fuel source that increases national security and provides stability in a volatile global energy market. ABFA strongly opposes any amendments to curtail the military’s advanced biofuels programs. Congress should recognize that encouraging DOD’s efforts will improve military energy security and long-term national security while fostering innovation and growing the economy.”
