ABFA Responds to the State of the Union
Wednesday, January 21, 2015
In response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech noting the importance of advanced biofuels, such as ‘turning solar into liquid fuel,’ the Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA) has issued the following statement attributable to Michael McAdams, ABFA President.
“President Obama reminded at the State of the Union that advanced biofuels are key to strengthening our country, creating jobs and ensuring national security. However, to grow and thrive in the marketplace, the advanced biofuels industry requires more stability from Washington. Unfortunately, managing the risk of regulatory and legislative uncertainty continues to remain a principal challenge to leaders in this industry. As such, the Advanced Biofuels Association, looks forward to working with President Obama, his administration, and Congress, to help level the playing field and help spur the advancement of biofuels. In the coming weeks and months, we will engage government at all levels to secure support for the advanced biofuels industry, allowing our member companies to commercialize their technologies and bring products to market that enhance our energy security, reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, and help America led the way in energy alternatives.”
