Advanced Biofuels Association Applauds Senators’ Call to Maintain a Robust Production Target in the RFS

Tuesday, January 28, 2014

(Washington, DC) – Today a group ten Senators, led by Senator Benjamin Cardin and Senator Susan Collins, sent a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, which encourages support of next-generation fuels and requests the adjustment of the proposed Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) for 2014 to maintain a robust production target for advanced biofuels. In response, the Advanced Biofuels Association (ABFA) issued the following statement, which should be attributed to Michael McAdams, ABFA President.

“The Advanced Biofuels Association thanks this group of bipartisan Senators for voicing their concerns with the proposed volume obligations under the Renewable Fuel Standard. It’s clear that Congressional support for advanced biofuels is growing and we hope EPA will heed the call to increase the volume obligation requirements for this important category of clean fuels.”
