Wilmar International

Wilmar International Limited, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Singapore, is today Asia’s leading agribusiness group. Wilmar is ranked amongst the largest listed companies by market capitalization on the Singapore Exchange. Wilmar produces palm oil methyl ester and palm olein methyl ester. Wilmar’s biodiesel meets the European (EN14214) and USA (ASTM D6751) standards. It contains virtually zero sulfur, thereby burning cleaner than traditional petroleum-based fuel. Our biodiesel plants are located in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Biodiesel is a basic oleochemical and is produced through the trans-esterification of RBD vegetable oils using methanol in the presence of a catalyst. The process is followed by neutralisation, separation of crude biodiesel and crude glycerin and methanol recovery for re-use in the process. Crude biodiesel and crude glycerin undergo a purification process to produce methyl ester biodiesel and refined glycerine.
