What is Climate Smart Agriculture?

Climate smart agriculture encompasses farming practices designed to reduce emissions while enhancing crop yields and resiliency. These practices are increasingly being deployed by farmers across the country given their benefits to revenues and agricultural productivity. Some of these methods include:

  • Multi-cropping/cover cropping
  • Nutrient management
  • Water management
  • Adjusting crop choices
  • Low-till/no-till
  • Soil carbon

ABFA’s members support climate smart agriculture and are actively encouraging the use of these practices in their production processes.
